This is one of the most spectacular treks in all over Nepal, where the high peaks of the Himalayas are so close that it seems you could touch them with your hand, a land where the sherpas settled centuries ago, where prayer flags fly in the wind everywhere, where one is far from everything and closer to heaven than one can be. We present the classic trek to the Everest Base Camp. Classic, but we have introduced some small changes with respect to the usual itinerary trek agencies do most to avoid the route more crowded, find less overcrowding in high season and allow some unusual getaway and a deeper knowledge of the way of life of its inhabitants. The climax of the trek is the Kala Patthar at an altitude of 5550 metres, from which you can observe the summit of Everest just in front of you. As a curious note, normally during the trek to Everest Base Camp, the base camp is not usually visited, although it is accessible about six hours away from Gorak Shep, the highest overnight stay point of the route.
