The trek to Gokyo provides an excellent opportunity to see an eyeful view of the Mt. Everest at close range.This trek is to be considered as an alternative trek to the traditional Everest Base Camp trek that offers magnificent view of the mountain peaks and the Ngozumpa Glacier- the largest in the Nepal Himalayas.The image of of this region is associated with the soaring view of the most popular mountains in Nepal, at an altitude of 8000m including Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu which are clearly visible from Gokyo Ri (5483m.) above Gokyo Lake.One of the most remarkable feature of the trek is the view of tremendous ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung (2922m) located in Khumbu region.This extraordinary trek is also worthy in a sense that it offers an ample opportunity to explore the amazing destination and its impressive sight, which is beyond human imagination.
Justifiably acknowledged as one of Nepal's most famous treks to the Khumbu Mountains & Sherpa settlements, the trek offers a unique experience to the visitors. The trail to Gokyo and Chola Pass is a gradual ascent up the valley passing through patches of birch and rhododendron forest where the elusive musk deer can sometimes be seen. Through small yak-grazing settlements we reach the Gokyo Lakes where we ascend the Gokyo Peak (5480m) and enjoy stunning mountains summit views including Everest, Makalu and Cho Oyo.
Visiting the Cho La pass, we reach Dzongla. The views of Ama Dablam and Taweche look spectacular from here. Ascending Zhongla, we continue towards Gorak Shep and climb to Kala Pattar (5545m) from where we enjoy an impressive close-up view of Everest. Our return route passes through Tengboche monastery, where we rest and savor the incredible scenery, including magnificent views of Everest, Ama Dablam (6856m), Kantega (6809m), Kwangde (6194m), Nuptse (7879m) and Lhotse (8511m)

Today, After morning breakfast you will introduce your trekking guide and you can ask a question about your trekking which includes briefing and preparations for the trip. After final briefing in remaining time you can do sightseeing around Kathmandu valley, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa. After Budhanath we visit Pashupatinath which is the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati river. In Pashupatinath we can see Hindu holy men (sadhus) mediating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the sides of river Bagmati. We also visit Swyambhunath which is also called monkey temple.
At early morning our Guide will pick up you from hotel and transfer to Tribhwan Airport. After 35 minute scenic flight we reach at Lukla Airport (2,804 m). After arrival at the airport guide will brief you and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding at 2,610 meters. After landing at Lukla airport we have time to explore the village while our Sherpa crew sort and load our trekking equipment. Then we begin our trek by descending towards the Dudh Koshi river where we join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just above Chaunrikharka (2,713 m). The walking is easy and after passing through the small village of Ghat (2,550m) it is a short walk to Phakding.

In order to acclimatization, we will spend a day here and adjust to the thinning of the air. As well as a short trek to a museum celebrating the traditional customs of the Sherpa people to visit. Today we hike up the Syangboche Airport, and around Everest view hotel. From this point, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas with a stunning sunrise or sunset over the panorama of the Khumbu Peaks. Overnight at Guesthouse with BLD basis.
The route starts by climbing up to the Shyangboche airstrip. Just above the airstrip is the Everest View Hotel, a Japanese scheme to build a deluxe hotel with great views of the highest mountains on Earth. We walk down a little further, and turn left to climb stairs and then walk through the forest of birch and junipers. We will reach the beautiful village of PhortseTenga, a tiny village with only few teahouses. Overnight at teahouse lodge .
From PhortseTenga, we will first trek through the rhododendron woods on the right bank of the DudhKoshi. We will have a good of Cho Oyu (8,201m), Thamserku&Kantenga (6799m) and reach Dole Village. Overnight at teahouse.
The trail climbs to Labharma and Luza. The path is steep in most of the places as it climbs through scrub junipers. Cross one more branch ridge and we will come to a wide valley and arrive at Machhermo. This is the village where it is believed that a Yeti killed several yaks and attacked Sherpa women. Overnight at teahouse lodge.
Today we will finally arrive in Gokyo. From Machhermo, it is a vertical climb up to the moraine from where the stream comes to a small lake. We can enjoy the views of wood ducks here. The trail follows the valley past the second lake and finally up to the jumble of rocks and boulders and reaches isolated Gokyo Lake. Overnight at teahouse lodge
The views around Gokyo are tremendous. We have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful isolated Himalayan scenes by exploring around and early morning climb to GokyoRi (5357m/19,216ft). It is a two -hour climbing to the top of the peak, providing a panoramic view of Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Tawachee. After the summit we take our well deserved breakfast and hike downhill towards Thore. At the end of the Ngozumpa glacier, the largest ice stream in Nepal, we cross a bridge and walk for about 2 hours until we arrive at our lodge. Overnight at Teahouse Lodge
Today we walk to the village of Pangboche and visit the very important and famous monastery Tengboche, which is on the way to Deboche. The Tengboche Monastery is the most important gompa / temple in the Sherpa region and the home of the abbot and about eighty monks and nuns who follow Nyingmapa Buddhism, which in turn dominates the Sherpa region. From here there is again a beautiful view of the Everest. After visiting the monastery, we will continue our journey to Deboche. Overnight at Teahouse Lodge
After trekking through the rhododendron forest to Tengboche, we descend to the river at Phunki Tenga. After we cross the bridge, a steady climb awaits us and the trail wanders around Namche Bazaar. We walk the same way back to Lukla and then walk down to Monjo village. Overnight at Teahouse Lodge
From Monjo we carry on the descent of the Dudh Khosi valley through the villages of Phakding, Ghat and Cheplung. At Chaurikharka we start ascending the final hill of the trek to reach Lukla. Overnight at teahouse lodge
If the weather is fine in Lukla then we will get an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. The rest of the day is free to relax in Kathmandu or to go shopping. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
