Island Peak is 6187 meters high and one of the most popular and demanding trekking peaks in Nepal is Island Peak Climbing. It is located at Khumbu valley for climbing on the Himalayas. Island Peak also Known as Imja Tse. This Imja Tse peak was named Island peak in 1951 by Eric Shipton's party since it appears as an island in a sea of ice when viewed from Dingboche. The peak was later renamed in 1983 to Imja Tse but Island peak remains the popular choice. The peak is actually an extension of the ridge coming down off the south end of Lhotse Shar.Island Peak was first climbed in 1956 by a Swiss team as a training exercise in preparation for Mount Everest and Lhotse. One has the option of starting from a base camp at 5,087 meters (16,690 ft) called Pareshaya Gyab and starting the climb between 2 and 3 am. Another popular option is to ascend to High Camp at around 5,600 meters to reduce the amount of effort and time needed for summit day.
It derives its name so, as the mountain looks like a sea of ice from along with one of the most enjoyable climbing experience, scaling of the Imja Tse or Island peak gets rewarded by some of the most spectacular scenery of the Himalayas in the Everest region. The best time for Island peak climbing is beginning of March to end of May and beginning of September to end of December. After morning breakfast you will meet with trekking and tour guide, then you will have sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including: Kathmandu durbar square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath stupa and Pashupatinath Temple with our Professional tour guide.
Transfer to airport at early in the morning for Lukla flight. Flight for Lukla is a lifetime experience in itself. The airfield is at high elevation and the difference between the two ends of the runway is about 460 meters.
Today, we follow the Dudh Kosi, ascending through Himalayan pine and Doedar cedar forests, to the celebrated village of Namche Bazaar. Namche bazaar is a historic trading post where Nepalese and Tibetan traders exchange salt, dreied meat and textiles. Besides being a superb place to shop for traditional crafts, Namche remains the central trading post in the Khumbu, attracting Himalayan and lowland merchats. We will spend two days in Namche for acclimatization, visit local markets and spend time with your team. On the hike we capture our first glimpses of Everest and neighboring peaks.
This day is reserved for acclimatization and a very slow ascent into thin Air. After breakfast we will start the ascent towards Khumjung. The trail ascends above Namche Bazar and passes through Syangboche (3,720m) where the local airport is located. From a hill top above the airport, you will get your first views of Taboche Peak, Lhotse peak, and Ama Dablam. On arrival at Khumjung(3,780m), you could visit the Hilary school before stopping for lunch at one of the tea houses. After lunch we will continue ascending the foot path to Khunde (3840 m), here you could visit the local hospital before the 2 hours ascent back to Namche Bazar. Namche Bazar is Known as the gateway of the Everest region, visit the local museum where you can see the traditional custom of the Sherpa peoples. We will spend a second night in Namche.
The flat and easy trail leads towards the view of Mt. Everest, then descends deep into the Dudh Koshi valley at Pungki Thanka, from here it ascends the right flank of the Dudh Koshi valley to Tengboche Monastery (3,860m). It is the spritual center of the Khumbu. We can see Mt. Everest, Amadablam and its surrounding from khumbu.
Today, We descend for about half an hour through a forest before crossing a river. Next, We trek uphill and notice that as we climb higher, the landscape becomes drier. We walk past a traditional Sherpa village of Pangboche before reaching Pheriche, a beautiful village located on a riverside which is Pheriche.
Today, After breakfast, we start with an easy walk towards Dugla. Next, we trek up the steep terminal of the Khumbu Glacier, and then pass through the boulder-strewn slopes as we ascend Chupki Lhara where we find an array of stones with prayer flags. The trail continues to the Khumbu Glacier moraine and we find ourselves facing several great peaks-Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori and Mahalangur himal.
We pass through rocky dunes, moraine and streams before reaching the Everest Base Camp. Upon reaching the Everest Base Camp, We see tents of mountaineers that stand out in bright colors against the monotony of gray surrounding. Nuptse, Khumbuste and pumori are the mountains we can view from the base camp. We get back to Gorak Shep for a ovenight rest.
Today, We will trek to Everest Base Camp and take pictures, enjoy the magnificent mountain view and then return back to Lobuche.
Today we trek via Khumbu Glacier to Kongma La Base Camp. The ascent to Kongma la pass is the most difficult part of our trek. We descend gradually to Imja Khola valley, followed by another descent to Chukkung.
Today, our guide will provide training on peak climbing techniques and the proper ways of using climbing gears such as the ice axe, climbing boots and crampons, harness etc.
Today, We wake up early around 12 to 1 am and have our breakfast and start climbing. It is important we reach the summit before noon because in the afternoon the strong winds in the highlands might become a barrier for a successful summit.
Today is reserve day for contingency.

Today, we will trek to Namche Bazaar.
Today, trek back to Lukla.
Today, we will fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel, full day rest.
